Mobile Dentist

The Mobile Dentist will once again bring their on-site dental care services to RPEL on Monday, February 23rd. Permission slips were sent home and there are extras in the office. They are due back this Friday. The program can provide services to families who need financial assistance, and it has subsidized fees for those who choose to pay for the preventive care. Please contact the office by this Friday if you have questions.

Mid Winter Break

Mid Winter dates this year are Feburary 17-February 20. Students will not attend either Friday or Monday. School will resume again on Tuesday, February 21st.

Girls On The Run

RPEL 3rd and 4th Girls On The Run begins the week of March 11th with the 5K (3.1 mile) run/walk on Saturday May 19th. Practices will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:00 until 5:15. If you have questions, please contact Alyssa Nauta at 750-0874 or nautalac@cmich.edu.

Reeths-Puffer Elementary Carnival

The RPEL Carnival is coming up on Friday,February 3rd, 6:00-8:00. Volunteer forms were sent home with students. If you have questions please call Mary Jo at 744-9312 or email at rpelscrip@comcast.net. Donations of any variety of 2-Liter pop and boxes of Little Debbie snacks may be dropped off in the elementary office. The carnival takes many hands to work well, so if you can spare any time to help out, the committee would greatly appreciate it.

Going Green

RPEL is “Going Green”! We are taking some new initiatives this year. There will be a section in each newsletter that you, as parents, can look for and talk it over with your students. Our first push will be reducing energy costs. Our next initiative will be recycling. Watch for more information and tips in upcoming newsletters.

Box Tops for Education

This year, you do not have to glue or tape the box tops on to the sheets of paper as in the past. Just put them in a baggie or an envelope and have your child return them to their teacher. The teacher will put them all in a large envelope and the PTO will collect them the last Friday of each month.
