R-PHS has an active participant in the local chapter of Youth Volunteer Corps in sophomore, Janiya Burton. Janaiya stopped by my office to share a bit about YVC which I thought would be good news for our school community.
Janaiya shared the following activities currently underway with YVC: “We at YVC are currently working on a childrens’ book drive with the hopes of donating the collected books to Every Woman’s Place in Muskegon. We also have neighborhood park clean-ups as well as assisting kids with disabilities.”
If you would like to donate gently used childrens’ books for the benefit of Every Woman’s Place in Muskegon, we have created a childrens’ book drop box and placed it in the reception office at the high school.
I would like to thank Janaiya for her willingness to get involved with YVC and for making a difference in the lives of others in our community.
