The 2010 Reeths-Puffer High School Destination ImagiNation team will compete at their regional tournament on Saturday, March 6 at Mona Shores High School at 3:40 p.m. in room 201. All are welcome to attend this free event.
This year the team has courageously taken on an improvisational acting challenge entitled “Do or DI”. Alex Griffin, Eric Hester, Jenna Holmes, and Emily Kaulius will have seven minutes to develop a skit that includes a randomly selected stock character and a randomly selected item which is on an endangered list. Characters in the skit will determine whether the endangered item will continue to exist or become extinct. It could be a plant, an animal, a geographic region, or a technological item. All props and scenery will be “invisible” and will be demonstrated through the use of mime. While acting out their skit, the team will be assigned a random superpower that one of their characters must exhibit while they determine the merits of saving the endangered item. Points will be awarded for the effectiveness, originality and creativity of the skit and the ability of the team to integrate the knowledge they have acquired in researching their endangered items. They will be appraised on their use of mime and teamwork.
