Dual Enrollment Updated

Filed under: Archive,Community News,Parents,School Board,Staff,Students — Mr. Beckeman @ 8:25 am

R-PHS recently updated the dual enrollment process for any student considering this academic option at our high school.  The updated process provides clear direction to students interested in enrolling at a post-secondary institution and will soon be accessible on our website as a link in the counseling menu.

I have attached the document to this post for your review.  If you have any questions regarding dual enrollment, please contact Mr. Schlaff, counselor at the high school.

Games Going PURPLE!

Filed under: Community News,Parents,School Board,Staff,Students,Uncategorized — Mr. Beckeman @ 7:26 am

The color purple has special place in the hearts of those who have battled cancer and beaten it!   It is approximated that cancer takes the lives of over 100,000 people each year even though medical advances have saved so many.

On January 22nd, R-P is preparing to raise the awareness, celebrate survivors and support cancer research by staging PURPLE GAMES in basketball and hockey.

We have high hopes for a huge turnout at both of these sporting events on Jan. 22nd with the highlight being a visit by Dave & Carol VanAndel at Rocket Arena during half-time of the boys varsity basketball game.

Our hockey players will be wearing purple jerseys in their game against Forest Hills and the same jersey can be purchased for $20.00 with all the proceeds going to the VanAndel Cancer Institute.  What a great way to show your spirit and support for a great cause!  The jerseys are available for purchase through this week Friday.  If you are interested, send me an email (beckemad@reeths-puffer.org) and I will assist you in getting this purchase made.

The half-time events tentatively planned for the girls game are a performance by the high school winterguard and “Buckshot” (a free throw contest).

The half-time events for the guys game will feature Dave & Carol VanAndel and a presentation to the VanAndels of the donated money from the Reeths-Puffer Community.  The VanAndels will also be bringing a film crew to shoot footage to include R-P in their next commercial for the VanAndel Cancer Institute.

There is no better ticket in town than a ticket to a high school sponsored event!  It’s our hope that you will consider attending and supporting both our teams and cancer research on January 22nd.
